Research shows that students who are read to become better readers and listeners. In addition, there is a strong link between reading and writing. The more your child reads, the more likely he/she is to develop good writing skills. Vocabulary development is also linked to reading. We encourage you to share your love of reading with your child and help build strong reading strategies with your child.
Our mission is to create a 21st century environment that promotes learning for all students. We strive to provide students with the opportunity to not only become lifelong readers, but also users and creators of information. EduTyping is a web-based keyboarding software program. Third and fourth graders at Goodings Grove are learning to type once a week during their library time. The EduTyping curriculum introduces students to the keyboard, learning new keys by rows. Students first learn the middle row, then the top row, and then the bottom row of the keyboard. Goodings Grove students are enjoying learning this life skill.
